LADY RU | SINGER
A Philadelphia native and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Lady Ru started singing at the tender age of 10 years and studied a diverse selection of instruments ranging from the piano to the flute. Having been trained in every area from Opera to Modern to Classical Indian vocals, Lady Ru’s voice is certainly among the most distinct and unique of female singers today.
From 2002-2004, Lady Ru worked with world-renowned producer, Handel Tucker. Mr. Tucker has written and produced hit tracks for some of the top artists of our time…from Maxi Priest to The Fugees to Bennie Man to Diana King. Lady Ru was subsequently signed to a production deal with up and coming producer, vocal arranger, musician, singer, and song writer, Jim Beanz (www.jimbeanz.com). Jim has done production and vocal arrangement for artists including Britney Spears, Puff Daddy, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Will Smith, R Kelly, Fat Joe, Shakira and the Black Eyed Peas.
Lady Ru was featured on Apache Indian’s song “So Hott” from his latest album, “Time for Change” (Universal), on a track with massive US rapper Ms. Jade. Ru has also done backing vocals for artists ranging from R Kelly to Ricky Martin to Hilary Duff to Katharine McPhee. She collaborated with Tanto Metro & Devonte on their single, ‘The Only One’ from their album “Musically Inclined” (VP Records/Atlantic).
